Empowering Futures: Celebrating Healthy Kids Day in Gaston County!

The Gaston County Family YMCA, in partnership with the City of Gastonia, Gaston County Jaycees, and Peanuts, is hosting the Y's annual Healthy Kids Day on April 20th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Erwin Center & Park!

Healthy Kids Day is a free community event that brings together neighbors from across Gaston County for a day filled with exciting activities, all while highlighting the importance of fostering healthy habits for the whole family.

During Healthy Kids Day, children and families will have the chance to explore four vital facets of youth and community well-being:

  • Physical Safety
  • Nutrition
  • Mental Health,
  • Recreational Activities

Exciting activities, outdoor games, crafts, delicious food and snacks, local vendors, community partners, and so much more await, all free to everyone in the community!

"Children are our most valuable resource and our best hope for the future."

- John F. Kennedy

This quote by Former President Kennedy rings true as we come together to celebrate Healthy Kids Day. By investing in the health and well-being of our children, we are investing in the future of the Gaston County community.

Summer vacation is the perfect time for families to unwind and enjoy some well-earned relaxation. Despite this, it's vital to remember that maintaining physical activity remains crucial for children's overall health and well-being. As the National Summer Learning Association emphasizes, encouraging regular exercise and healthy habits is essential, even during the summer months.

During our Healthy Kids event, you'll discover a wealth of resources and activities designed to promote both physical and mental wellness. By learning about different ways to nurture your body and mind, you'll be empowered to be the best version of yourself.
