Out-of-School Days

The Gaston County Family YMCA offers child care options for school-aged children (K-8th grade) while schools are out for scheduled breaks, including Teacher Work Days! Care days align with the Gaston County Schools Calendar and the Piedmont Community Charter Schools Calendar. Our Y staff plan a day filled with activities for your child. Care is offered from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.

Possible activities include:

  • Group Games
  • Swimming
  • Outdoor play
  • Hands on projects
  • and more!

Children are asked to come prepared to play with activewear, closed-toed shoes, a lunch, a water bottle, and two snacks daily. Staff will communicate any special items needed, such as swimsuits.

Registration is required to participate. 

  • Rides In - 7:00 - 9:00 am
  • Rides Out - 4:00 - 6:00 pm

Fee: 

  • Y Members - $40/day
  • Program Participants - $60/day
  • Active Afterschool participants - included in program fees, registration still required for attendance
