Homeschool Class Options
HOMESCHOOL SWIM CLUB
A swim program designed to cater to homeschool children. Our Homeschool Swim Lessons class is designed to provide a comprehensive aquatic education that not only builds strong swimmers but also fosters essential life skills. Participants will practice twice a week to fill their PE requirements for homeschool.
At the YMCA, safety is our top priority, and our certified instructors ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants. Whether your child is a beginner taking their first strokes or an experienced swimmer looking to refine their technique, our program accommodates various skill levels.
SESSIONS
September 5 - October 26
Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30pm - 4:00pm
Practice will run until 3:30pm for Intermediate and 4pm for Advanced.
LEVELS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Lessons are offered for ages 8-18 years.
Ages 6 and 7 will need to come in to the pool and demonstrate that their abilities are up to the standard to participate.
Advanced Participants must be able to swim 50-100 meters without stopping of all four strokes competitive strokes (Front crawl, Back, Breast and Butterfly stroke).
Intermediate Participants must be able to demonstrate all four strokes and ability to swim all fours strokes 25-50 meters without stopping.

Full Price: $145
Half deposit at sign up. Half when program starts.

HOMESCHOOL GYMNASTICS
Discover the World of Gymnastics with YMCA's Homeschool Class! Our Homeschool Gymnastics Class at the YMCA is the perfect opportunity for homeschooling families to explore the exciting world of gymnastics. Tailored to accommodate the unique needs and schedules of homeschoolers, our program combines physical activity with skill development in a safe and supportive environment.

AQUATICS AREA GUIDELINES
The Gaston County Family YMCA is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable pool experience for all. All children aged 15 and under must take a swimming skills assessment. Successful participants earn a green, yellow, or no swim band if they successfully complete the assessment. Swim bands assist our lifeguards in keeping inexperienced swimmers safe.

Updates, highlights, and specific details are sent via email and/or text through a platform called PlayerSpace. Please ensure you register with accurate contact information to receive important program communication. We are as invested as you are in ensuring you get the details you need to make your week run smoothly. OUR STAFF
Every YMCA employee is thoroughly vetted, qualified, caring, and CPR/AED/ First Aid Certified.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Financial Assistance is available to YMCA Members. We encourage members to complete the simple and confidential online application process. Scholarship funds are raised during our Annual Giving Campaign.
