From Summer to Fall: Reset Your Routine

Step Into Fall With Intention

As August winds down, many of us feel the tug between holding on to the last days of summer and preparing for the busier season ahead. This transition can be a challenge, but it’s also a great opportunity to reset, refresh, and step into fall with intention!

🌞 Celebrate Summer Wins

Before racing ahead, take a moment to look back. What did this summer mean for you? Maybe it was a family vacation, more time by the pool, or a new activity you tried for the first time. Celebrating these moments — big or small — helps us recognize how much joy and growth the season brought.

Try this: ask your family around the dinner table, “What was your favorite summer memory?” You might be surprised by what stands out most.

🗓️ Reset Your Routine

Fall naturally brings more structure. Families adjust to school schedules, active adults often find themselves re-committing to fitness, and older adults may be ready to return to group activities as the weather cools. A simple reset can make this transition easier:

  • For families: Start easing into after-school routines, plan a week of healthy dinners, and carve out intentional family downtime. Looking for support? Our fall sports — including Flag FootballBasketball Academy, and Hoop & Scoop — keep kids active, engaged, and learning all season long. Plus, don’t miss Stowe's Fall Fest for free family fun with games, crafts, and community time together.
  • For active adults: Block time in your calendar for exercise, and treat it like any other important appointment. Explore group exercise classes or challenge yourself with our 5K Training Program to get ready for the Trick or Trail 5K.

  • For active older adults: Fall is a great time to connect socially and try something new. Join us for our free Fall Disco, a special event for all seniors, or take part in a group trip to Grandad’s Apples for a day of fellowship and fun.

🍂 Look Ahead with Intention

You don’t have to overhaul your life when the calendar changes. Instead, pick one small goal for September: maybe it’s walking three times a week, joining a class you’ve been curious about, or cooking one new healthy meal each week. Small steps add up and set the tone for the season.
