How do I register?
This year we are registering through Run Sign Up. Register by April 20th.

Discover the spirit of spring with the Gaston County Family YMCA Cherry Blossom 5K! Trophies await our top male and female runners, while medals celebrate registered runners in various age groups. Embrace the outdoors and bring your canine companions along – the first dog to finish claims the coveted "Top Dog" tag. The race winds through Cherryville's rolling hills, starting and ending at the First Presbyterian Church. Join us at the finish line for music and awards! For a special touch, the 1-mile race beforehand features a bubble extravaganza! Grab your kiddos and run through bubbles at the start and end, adding extra smiles to the race. Let's make this 5K/fun run a blooming, bubbly celebration for all!

Belmont Classic 5K Bonus!
Planning to participate in the Belmont Classic 5K on the same day? If you're up for the challenge of running both the Belmont Classic 5K (beginning at 8:00 am) and the Cherry Blossom 5K (beginning at 9:00 am) consecutively, you'll not only earn a unique trophy but also double the points towards the Gaston Run Series!

Why is the 5K race at 10 am?
The 5K race is at 10 am to allow for runners to get to Cherryville in time to run! It also allows runners to run BOTH the Belmont Classic and Cherry Blossom 5K! What a challenge! The Gaston Run Series is awarding DOUBLE POINTS for completing both races!

Will I get a race shirt?
Yes! Runners and walkers will receive a race shirt as long as they register prior to April 11. Those after April 11 will be first come first serve at packet pick up.

Why is a Bubble Mile?
A Bubble Mile makes running a mile MUCH MORE FUN! We are adding bubbles to the start/finish to make the race more exciting. Please bring along your favorite bubble wand to get in on the fun!

When is packet pickup?
Packet pick up will begin Saturday, April 23 at 8:15 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 107 West Academy Street, Cherryville.

Can I walk the 5K?
The 5K is open to walkers and runners alike. We will not have an awards division for walkers.
This race also offers a 1 Mile walk option open to both kids and adults alike!

Will the kids' 5K or walk be timed?
Kids racing at the reduced price will not receive a time. If your child would like to be timed please register them for the full 5K. The 1-mile bubble run/walk will not be timed.

Can I wear headphones, run with my pet, or push a baby stroller?
Headphones are allowed, but please be aware and cautious of your surroundings. We try to lessen as much traffic as possible but realize we cannot close off traffic 100 percent. Your leashed dog can run with you for no extra charge, and may even win the dog division- just hold on when our New Year Shooter shoots the starting musket! Strollers are allowed.

Is this course flat or hilly?
This course is hillier than it looks! It offers a challenge and includes several rolling hills.
