For ages 12–18 at the Warlick and Stowe Family YMCAs. Programs include Next Generation University, Y-Corps, Youth & Government, Leaders Club, Middle School United Nations, Aquatic Leaders, and DJ Basketball.

YMCA Leaders Club

A leadership and service program where teens build confidence, practice real-world skills, and give back through projects and events. It’s a supportive place for teens to connect, grow, and be themselves while developing habits that carry into high school and beyond.

YMCA Aquatic Leaders Club

A prep pathway for future lifeguards and swim instructors that builds core safety skills and professionalism. While not a certification course, it strengthens readiness for lifeguard and swim instructor certification and reinforces strong judgment and awareness around the water.

Y-Corp

A multi-month service-learning experience for students in grades 9–12 focused on meaningful projects across our community and North Carolina. Participants develop leadership, teamwork, and reflection skills while putting service into action in tangible, measurable ways.

Youth & Government

A hands-on civic program where high school students step into roles such as legislators, judges, attorneys, lobbyists, executive officers, and press. Participants draft and debate bills, explore the courts, and grow public speaking, leadership, and critical thinking skills.

Next Generation University

A life skills course that prepares teens and young adults for school, work, and everyday life. Through interactive projects, students practice communication, public speaking, financial literacy, goal setting, problem solving, time management, conflict resolution, and teamwork.

Middle School United Nations

A diplomacy simulation for middle schoolers that builds confidence in debate, collaboration, and problem solving. Students represent countries, work in committees, and propose solutions to global issues while strengthening research, public speaking, and critical thinking.

A structured, positive environment where teens game together competitively or casually while building communication and teamwork. Seasons run eight weeks with two sessions per week, including one practice day and one match day, all supported by Y staff.

Teen Mental Health Resource Hub

A statewide initiative funded to increase awareness of help available to teens and families. The hub connects you to crisis hotlines, local support, practical guides for starting conversations, and next steps for finding care when it is needed most.

DJ Basketball - Ages 12- 18 years

Hoops with a soundtrack. Kids play pick-up games and skill challenges while we spin fun, family-friendly music. It’s fast, upbeat, and great for all skill levels, come shoot, move, and enjoy the vibe.
