Interview with Personal Training Client Candace Coffey

Interviewer: Thank you for joining us today. Let's dive into your fitness journey. When did you start your fitness journey?

Candace: I started my fitness journey in April 2023.

Interviewer: What problems were you facing before starting personal training?

Candace: Before starting personal training, I lacked confidence in the gym, especially in the weight room. I also struggled with a lack of strength and endurance.

Interviewer: How did those issues make you feel?

Candace: Those issues made me feel self-conscious and embarrassed. I felt like I didn't belong and was hesitant to push myself out of my comfort zone.

Interviewer: What motivated you to start personal training?

Candace: My desire to prioritize my health and make positive changes in my life motivated me to start personal training. I knew I needed guidance and support to achieve my fitness goals.

Interviewer: What were you skeptical about or what objections did you have before starting with personal training?

Candace: Before starting, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the exercises and that the personal trainer would be too rigid. I had concerns about my own abilities and whether I would be able to achieve the desired results.

Interviewer: What were some of your goals when you started?

Candace: When I started, my goals were to uncover the muscle mass hidden underneath layers of fat and gain strength. While weight loss was a consideration, becoming stronger was a greater priority for me.

Interviewer: What changed for you once you started personal training with Jessica Ewert?

Candace: Jessica provided the encouragement and direction I needed to continue my fitness journey. She pushed me in ways I wouldn't have pushed myself and helped build my confidence. Her expertise in proper form ensured I understood how to do exercises correctly without risking injury. Additionally, she kept our sessions fresh and engaging, preventing boredom and monotony.

Interviewer: What are your goals now?

Candace: My current goals are to build upon what Jessica has taught me and continue progressing in my fitness journey.

Interviewer: What have been your biggest struggles?

Candace: One of my biggest struggles has been ensuring that I prioritize my health and fitness commitments to myself amidst the challenges and busyness of life. It's essential not to let external factors derail my progress.

Interviewer: What have been your greatest achievements since working with Jessica?

Candace: Since working with Jessica, I am no longer intimidated when entering the gym. I feel a sense of belonging and have gained confidence. Additionally, her sense of humor during workouts brings a smile to my face and makes the experience enjoyable.

Interviewer: What advice would you give to new clients/members considering personal training?

Candace: I would encourage them to take a leap of faith and try it for themselves. Personal training provides individualized attention tailored to your needs, making it the best gift you can give yourself. Don't be intimidated or afraid; the instructor will meet you where you are in your fitness journey, and together you can build from there.

Interviewer: What is your favorite thing about your workouts and trainer?

Candace: My favorite thing about my workouts and trainer, Jessica, is that she possesses an incredible amount of knowledge on proper technique, exercise variety, and overall health. She combines this expertise with her amazing personality, blending wit, encouragement, and knowledge to create an experience rather than just a workout.
